Odin
3 1/4" art medal cast in bronze,
limited edition of 40.
Odin, the chief god of Norse mythology reigns in Valhalla inciting
brutal Viking warriors to battle. As the god of wisdom and magic he
sacrificed one of his own eyes into the well of Mimir in order to gain
immense wisdom. Two ravens, Huginn and Muginn fly out into the nine
worlds to gather news and return to whisper into his ears all that goes
on. At his feet sit two wolves, Geri and Freki, omens of good luck and
on his finger a magic ring. My ancient ancestors passed down to their
children this legend, this character of dichotomy, both wickedly brutal
but lover of knowledge, physically barbaric but refined of mind, good
and evil.
